CNN quotes sources in the McCain camp as being very frustrated with Palin for "going rogue," on them.
"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," said this McCain adviser. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.
"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom."
CNN quotes a Palin associate as say she is just trying to, "bust free," of what she considered a bad roll-out of her candidacy. But Democratic pollster Peter Hart summed the situation up this way: "She's no longer playing for 2008; she's playing 2012."

Well, if Palin is "going rogue" it must mean she believes that McCain has no chance. I saw on one blog (either Daily Kos or Daily Dish) that Palin is spending a surprising amount of her time campaigning in Iowa, a state where McCain is behind by double digits and where there are no close Congressional races. Why? They speculate that Palin is establishing contacts with local Republican activists in Iowa, laying the ground work for the caucuses in 2012.
the McCain camp has been sending mixed signals since it's inception... Sarah Palin can't even keep up with McCain's endless wavering between "straight talker" and crooked politician
Movie Fan makes a good point. It's not really fair of the McCain advisors to accuse Palin of being "off message" because even McCain can't decide what message to be on.
