COURIC: And when it comes to establishing your world view, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this — to stay informed and to understand the world?
PALIN: I’ve read most of them again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media —
COURIC: But what ones specifically? I’m curious.
PALIN: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years.
...
GERMAN: You have been safety inspector for two years.
What initiatives have you spearheaded in that time?
HOMER: Uh... All of them?

It's funny because it's true...
Oh she is such a f*ing idiot. I mean, if you have to be vague about which newspapers you pretend to read, WTF?
What blows my mind is that it should have been so easy for her to just say "Wall Street Journal." Everyone would recognize the name and the conservatives would approve. Or she could have said what is probably the truth, that she doesn't read print media but gets a lot of news from online sources like most of us. But no. She couldn't even remember to fake it properly.
It's actually painful to watch. She is like a little kid who got her hand caught in the cookie jar. It's so childish.
God, she makes all women look bad.
Have you seen any of the footage from the primary debates when she was running for governor in Alaska? If they're any indication of what tomorrow is going to be like, we're going to hear a whole lot more of absolutely nothing.
Can you imagine being Couric in that situation?
I think Homer handled the question with more poise.
So how should Biden respond to her rambling nothing answers? I think the last thing he should do is shake his head and smile. That would come off as patronizing. Instead, he should directly ask the Governor to explain her answer a lot. Something like "I'd like to give the governor 20 seconds of my time to tell me what she just said because I missed her answer somewhere in there."
He should also try to be direct and to the point in his answers. Lot of stuff like his one word "Yes" answer from the primaries.
Yes, in Joe's case, less is more. His ticket is ahead. All he has to do is stay professional and in charge. Give her enough rope to hang herself.
What they are going to tell her to do is bait him. He'll get his mouth running and he'll look like the "old man" picking on the "sweet young thing".
She plays that up really well. DId you see her with Kissenger? Makes me nuts. I love that part in the SNL skit where the Couric character says, "Why is it that when you are cornered you get a sweet and cute?" Something to that effect. She soaks up the doting from older men.
If she is too harsh, she will come across a as (exuse what I am about to say my feminist friends, but a spade is a spade) bitchy school yard mom, excatly the kind that you see at hockey matches.
Raised by Republicans,
So how should Biden respond to her rambling nothing answers?
This is such a good question. I think you're right, Biden should just give her more time to repeat and elaborate on her "position". If she were smart, she would take a page out of Homer's book and say something succinct and nonsensical (without the explanation).
Sarah Palin reminds me of Charles Durning as the Texas Governor in the Best Little Whore House in Texas--Here's the Youtube link.

The problem is obvious. Sarah Palin doesn't read any newspapers or magazines. She occasionally reads the clippings her staff puts on her desk, which come from "all of them," probably. I've done that sort of thing for a political candidate.
If challenged in the debate, she'll probably just say, "I read the bible."
It took her what- 5-6 colleges to get a degree in Journalism? And she reads little more than clippings?
She wanted to go into Broadcasting . . . which meant she should have studied communications.
Are you getting a pattern of poor judgement here?
Look, as to the reading question: she should have been smarter if she had said, "I have 5 children and I am governor. I read briefing books. I don't have much time to read much else." That would have been believable.
