Bell Curve The Law Talking Guy Raised by Republicans U.S. West
Well, he's kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly," and replace "dog" with "son."

Standard Time

In 2008, Daylight Savings Time in the U.S. began on March 9th and will end on November 2nd. As part of the "Energy Policy Act of 2005," Congress added two more months to Daylight Savings Time. This means we now spend two-thirds of the year (238 days) in "non-standard" time. Something has gone wrong somewhere.

At some point we will stop turning back clocks in the winter altogether. Just like Russia.

At some point, we will just keep going backwards until we come full circle.

Maybe it is an elaborate ploy to bring back the Julian Calendar. ;-)

Of course we have non-standard time for 2/3 of the year. We're special! Opposing day-light savings time is like saying America is average. Saying America is average is like saying we're not special. Dr. S, why do you hate America?

RbR is right. We are special. I have never felt so ashamed :-)

This is obviously a Bush conspiracy to encourage a consumerist society. More daylight hours encourages shopping, especially shopping for curtains, as the extra sunlight will fade curtains faster. Not only that more sun reduces the chances of night time fornication. WWJD...?

Spotted H - you forgot, daylight savings time also causes divorces (which are a *great* money-spinner for some). At least according to the concerned-about-the-curtains Queenslanders...

Ah, the Julian Calendar.

This is all a Russian conspiracy.

Typical Congress, saving daylight for the Summer. Clearly the time we most need to save daylight is the Winter!
