Bell Curve The Law Talking Guy Raised by Republicans U.S. West
Well, he's kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly," and replace "dog" with "son."

Lies of Commission and Omission

I did not believe it until I saw the screenshot. FOX News labeled former representative Mark Foley (R-FL) as a Democrat several times. Furthermore, FOX News is by far the most prominent of a handful of news outlets that were given copies of the Foley e-mails a year ago, but did nothing. If Foley really had been a Democrat, you can bet FOX would have run the story immediately as a breaking news headline. FOX's notorious bias has now become just outright lying.

It could have been intentional, but I think it's just so Freudian. The Fox News guys couldn't imagine that a Republican was gay. This had to be a Democrat, right?

You know, another thing hasn't been said yet. It's clear that the Republicans in the House tolerated Foley, knowing he was obviously gay, while gay-bashing at home for so-called "christian" votes. This leaves the fundamentalist "christians" very angry. Obviously they knew he was gay, right? These fundamentalists are terrified of the idea that you can't tell if someone is gay.

What's not yet been talked about is that Republicans in Congress just assumed that tolerating homosexuals on staff meant tolerating someone who would prey on teenage boys. That's what they assume all middle aged gay men do.

When Democrats talk about gay rights, Republicans assume they mean tolerating this predatory behavior, NAMBLA, etc. That's a big part of what's going on here.

And here, just minutes after my last post, is the proof of what I'm talking about, at least the "they knew he was gay" bit. Also, pay attention to all the lies he and others told to keep up the bachelor mystique.

I believe FOX deliberately mislabeled Foley's affiliation to sow confusion--just another hard-to-prove Republican dirty trick. The fact that Foley is a Republican is not incidental to the story, but is a key part of it: despite the warnings they received, the GOP leadership took no action against one of their own. He was even Chair the House committee on the exploitation of children (and all committee chairs are from the majority party.)

LTG is being way too generous to FOX and O'Reily. They did this with clear intent and for obvious reasons. It's a pattern of this entire party/administration. If you tell a lie often enough enough people will be believe you so that you win the next election.

They probably saved several thousands votes in Tennessee or Virginia with that "mistake."
