Well, true to form, Bush has retained the right to authorize harsh interrogation tactics. He signed McCain's law with one hand and signed the exemption with the other. Do we see a pattern?

He has absolutely no respect for either the concept of the rule of law or for political opposition. He is a tyrrant. That intellectualls aren't being systematically harrassed on a mass scale in this country can only be due to luck. If the Republicans win another one or two elections we could see it.
