Remember back in 2004? Homeland Security Secretary under the Bush Administration, Tom Ridge, comes clean and admits that the color coded terrorist threat level was manipulated for political reasons during the 2004 Presidential Election. I remember we all thought that was going on. Now we have some evidence in support of that perception.
Tom Ridge should be deeply deeply ashamed of himself for not coming forward when it actually mattered. Shame on you Tom Ridge!

Technically speaking, Ridge claims only that they asked him to manipulate the threat level, and he also claims he refused. Thus speaks an author trying to sell his book. (Take that as you will.)
I predicted they would go to red and have troops on the streets in 2004. I was wrong about how far Bushies would be permitted to go, but not wrong about their antidemocratic impulse.
Hell, read Robert McNamara's autobiography when he knew the Vietnam was was lost in 1966. His reward for keeping his mouth shut was to appointed head of the World Bank.
Now that is really and truly treason.
C'mon Kissinger, I am not in good health, will you just die?
He also got what Jon Stewart called a "shame medal."
