OK, who wants to bet that Rove resigned from his post as White House Chief Advisor in order to begin his dirty tricks campaign against Clinton, Obama, and Edwards and to promote Romney? Now that the Iowa Straw Poll is over, and Thompson is withdrawling, the Republicans have to start focusing on a viable candidate. That is where Rove will concentrate his efforts. On the side, he will deal with Congress.

Rove says he is leaving to spend more time with his family. If he joins another campaign, we'll see that for the lie it is.
I suppose "withdrawl" is what any Southerner would do. =)
Um, Dr.S, OF COURSE Rove is lying.
Oh, you mean Tommy Thompson... My mistake.
You never know. Rove really might be thinking of taking a break for a while. He's had a good run.
I think he quit becuase he is afraid of going to jail while he is in the White House...the guy should be put away.
Regardless of his future plans, his staying in the White House is pointless. In fact, if he is going to work for Romney or some other Republcian(s), doing so from the White House would be so obviously in violation of campaign laws that even this administration wouldn't be able to defend it with a straight face.
Word today is that Rummy actually resigned the day BEFORE the November election, but Bush held it under wraps till after. Interesting what would have happened in the VA Senate race in particular if Rummy had already resigned.
Going to spend more time with his family. Well, thanks to Rove, thousands of soldiers can't spend any time with their families. Redeployments, extended deployments, recalls from inactive duty, etc.
I wonder what sort of medal of honor Bush will award Rove, since he gives them out to those who have screwed up the most.
