With no votes to spare, the Nevada Legislature overrode their Governor's veto today and created domestic partnerships. Although the Nevada Constitution prohibits same-sex marriage and the newly-created domestic partnership statute does not confer all of the rights of marriage--I still give them kudos for a job well done. This is yet another indication that support for gay relationships has become the majority position in this country.

Woohoo! Like you say, they're not totally there yet, but at least they're tottering in the right direction. Fantastic! :-)
Las Vegas probably provided all the votes for the bill, and would love to have gay marriage if they could. I mean, what place on earth is more fabulous than Las Vegas?
Disneyland...?
Disney would roll in his grave if there were gay marriages there. Especially if any of the couples were Jewish. Disney was a notorious anti-semite, right wing asshole.
It is sadly true that Walt Disney had his prejudices. Fortunately, Disneyland itself is now very gay-friendly, and quite popular with the gay community. And it is, of course, fabulous :-)
Hmmm, so it sounds like Disney is probably already rolling, albeit very slowly. Bring on Disneyland gay marriage - I wanna hear him spinning!
