You won't have Sacajawea to kick around any more...

Yesterday, the US Mint announced a program to put all US Presidents on dollar coins, in order, starting with Washington.

So, the wingnuts finally figured out a way to put Nixon on a coin. What an awful, awful idea. And Herbert Hoover?

And Reagan and both Bushes within two years of their deaths!

I suppose Republicans will say, "But we have to look at Clinton after he dies!"

PS: Maybe Sacajawea will go into a brief retirement and then turn up on the Twenty Dollar Bill?

Currently, the website says the last coin will be Nixon in 2016. They have to wait for Ford and Carter to die, you see, in order to progress.

Me, I can't wait for the James K. Polk dollars. Do you think they will say "Napoleon of the Stump" on one side?

Ah, the mint is going retro! It is doing it's greatest hits. Let's see. I've seen Kennedy on a dime. I think FDR has been on a dime since 1946. Then there were Eisenhower dollar coins minted between 1971-1978. Washington is already on the quarter.

I think the Mint is going the way of Hallmark. It's a ruse to get everyone to collect coins, like the state quarters.
