I have more to add. Aside from the discrimination issues here, and the almost certainly selective "enforcement" of the rules, there is something much darker. A total lack of love and compassion, which ought to be the bedrock of the church, not authority. I think the Roman Catholic church forgets that the words inscribed around the dome of St Peters, "You are Peter, and on this Rock I shall build my church" were meant to be a pun: "Tu es Petrus, et super hanc petram aedificabo ecclesiam meam" It translates better as "Your name is Rocky, and on this rock I'll build my church."
Ha ha. Rocky should have ran because he obviously got burried alive.
And LTG is right,The Churhc and a sense of humor, ehhhh, not so much. Imagine if one day, the Gospel of Jerome the Entertainer is ever found and we discover that Jesus was really a stand up comedian who had the ancient Hebrews rolling in the mosque with his hilarous parables.
This is the Church attitude that made me quit. What more can you say?
